Outdoor Sauna Host

Meet your host

Hi there! I'm Nicola, your sauna host and the proud founder of Bask Saunas. Before diving into this exciting adventure, I explored a variety of roles in adult physical and mental health services. I kicked off my career in twenties as an outdoor education instructor and most recently worked with a fantastic organization, helping individuals with complex trauma.

On my journey here I have learned much about the mind-body connection. Having worked alongside clinical psychologists for over 6 years some common themes emerged which are proven to enhance both mind and body; Yoga, meditation, breath-work, connecting with others and being out in nature with all her wild elements. It goes without saying, regular sauna usage is also a wonderful activity which has a wealth of physical and mental health benefits. After witnessing the transformative changes in others and myself from using these simple practices regularly I've developed a deep passion for self healing and wellness.

Cold water swimming has been my favourite personal method for overcoming challenges, and I can't wait to share the incredible therapeutic benefits of cold water and heat with you. I hope you will also be inspired by the healing power of nature when you come to Bask.

Water ripple effect

I visited with my friend while staying at the camp site and she had never done anything like this before, I was amazed at how comfortable she was with it all. It had been raining hard the night before and as we lay looking up at the blue sky through the trees, small rain drops were cleansing us too. Nicola was lovely and very knowledgeable about wellbeing and relaxation. I will definitely return and bring more friends, I honestly can't recommend this experience enough, go along and take the plunge, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Awesome sauna experience and addition to the campsite, The owner has clearly poured there heart and soul into the place.. it’s well positioned and is one of the best saunas of this type I have been too … if you are thinking of booking do it I literally cannot think of a better way to spend £17 within a 200 mile radius. If this was local to me I would have to negotiate a monthly fee for multiple access they would be sick of the site of me

The sauna was amazing - even the wood used for the bench was much nicer to sit on than others I've visited. Cooling down under the trees was blissful. The host was lovely and clearly very passionate about what she does. She was great at talking through everything with those less experienced in trying this too. I left feeling blissful and totally chilled out. An absolute treat!

My favourite sauna by far! Visited Bask Sauna's a few times now and keep coming back again. The sauna itself is stunning, and i love the cold plunge bath tubs. Plus the location of the sauna is something - you feel like you are in a tree house due to the canopy of the trees. Despite being in the campsite, feels very private, peaceful and a million miles away from it all. Nicola is such a warm and welcoming host, and the campsite has loads of facilities and a fantastic coffee and food van. A trip to the sauna can be made into a full day out. This is Aberfoyle's hidden gem!
