To make the most of your sauna session, here are some top tips for sauna usage and the health benefits you can expect:

  1. Hydration is Key: It's essential to stay hydrated before, during, and after your sauna session. Drink plenty of water to help replenish the fluids lost through sweating.

  2. Start Slow: If you're new to saunas or haven't visited one in a while, start with shorter sessions at lower temperatures to allow your body to acclimate gradually.

  3. Proper Attire: Most saunas are enjoyed best in the nude or with a towel wrapped around you. However Bask Saunas request you wear appropriate sauna clothing (swim wear).

  4. Cool Down: After your sauna session, take the time to cool down gradually. You can opt for a cool shower, a dip in a cold plunge pool, or simply relax in a cool environment.

  5. Listen to Your Body: Pay attention to how your body is feeling during the sauna session. If you start to feel lightheaded or unwell, exit the sauna immediately and cool down. Now, let's delve into some of the health benefits you can reap from regular sauna usage:

  6. Detoxification: Saunas help stimulate sweating, which aids in flushing out toxins from the body and promoting clearer skin.

  7. Relaxation: The heat from the sauna can help relax your muscles, reduce stress levels, and promote a sense of overall relaxation and well-being.

  8. Improved Circulation: The heat exposure in saunas can help dilate blood vessels, improve circulation, and promote better cardiovascular health.

  9. Pain Relief: Saunas are known to help alleviate muscle soreness, joint pain, and even symptoms of conditions like arthritis through the heat's soothing effects.

  10. Immune Support: Regular sauna usage is believed to help strengthen the immune system, making you more resilient to common illnesses. By incorporating regular sauna sessions into your wellness routine, you can experience these benefits and more. Whether you're a cold water swimmer, outdoor enthusiast, or simply someone looking for a unique and rejuvenating experience, Bask Saunas, Gartmore, Scotland, is the perfect destination to unwind and rejuvenate your mind and body. Remember to book your session in advance, follow proper sauna etiquette, and above all, enjoy the relaxing and health-enhancing benefits of sauna usage at Bask Saunas.

Water ripple effect

I visited with my friend while staying at the camp site and she had never done anything like this before, I was amazed at how comfortable she was with it all. It had been raining hard the night before and as we lay looking up at the blue sky through the trees, small rain drops were cleansing us too. Nicola was lovely and very knowledgeable about wellbeing and relaxation. I will definitely return and bring more friends, I honestly can't recommend this experience enough, go along and take the plunge, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Awesome sauna experience and addition to the campsite, The owner has clearly poured there heart and soul into the place. It’s well positioned and is one of the best saunas of this type I have been too … if you are thinking of booking do it I literally cannot think of a better way to spend £17 within a 200 mile radius. If this was local to me I would have to negotiate a monthly fee for multiple access they would be sick of the site of me

The sauna was amazing - even the wood used for the bench was much nicer to sit on than others I've visited. Cooling down under the trees was blissful. The host was lovely and clearly very passionate about what she does. She was great at talking through everything with those less experienced in trying this too. I left feeling blissful and totally chilled out. An absolute treat!

My favourite sauna by far! Visited Bask Sauna's a few times now and keep coming back again. The sauna itself is stunning, and i love the cold plunge bath tubs. Plus the location of the sauna is something - you feel like you are in a tree house due to the canopy of the trees. Despite being in the campsite, feels very private, peaceful and a million miles away from it all. Nicola is such a warm and welcoming host, and the campsite has loads of facilities and a fantastic coffee and food van. A trip to the sauna can be made into a full day out. This is Aberfoyle's hidden gem!
